jpr’s favorite weekend spots

While life in PR is often viewed as glamorous, our days can often get a little chaotic as we race to client meetings, host media luncheons, rush to early TV segments and organize charity events.  Although we absolutely love this fast-paced lifestyle (a PR prerequisite), sometimes we need a weekend break to recuperate from our workload.  That’s when our job requirement of being “in the know” comes in handy as we have an inside track of all the best places to unwind as well as the perfect spots to go for a girls night out.  Here is your bi-coastal weekend guide for how the JPR ladies like to paint the town pink:

Brooklyn Winery

Brooklyn Winery - Wines on tap, trivia games, ‘Friday Night Music’ series featuring local musicians, and bountiful bar snacks all make Brooklyn Winery an idyllic urban winery to go with friends and co-workers.

“Their make-your-own flights, charcuterie and cheese plates are perfect to share with friends at one of their cozy communal tables. The staff is very knowledgeable and their menus offer tons of interesting facts about wine and the winery itself. So even after a few glasses of wine, you somehow walk out feeling smarter.” – Calee

Blind Lady Ale House - A place to go with your beau for pints of cold hoppy beer and organic-friendly crafted pizzas.

“My husband loves the wide selection of beers on tap and I love their food! Charcuterie, pizzas and salads all made with local ingredients – it is the best place to hang out anytime of day on the weekends.” – Dawn

Saturday Night Fever

Bunker Club -  Literally located underneath Ninth Avenue, in New York City’s Meatpacking District, Bunker is an after-party destination for Fashion Week fetes and movie premieres.  Round-up your Vogue-obsessed friends because you are bound to run into supermodels and fashion designers among the stylish crowd.

“I’m a big fan of Bunker, a newly opened club underneath a yummy spot, The Darby.”- Lauren C.

Amazing view from George's at the Cove

George’s At the Cove - Overlooking the idyllic seaside town of La Jolla, Georges is a perfect place for date night to enjoy a cocktail at sunset and catch up over  delicious modern California cuisine.

“After a busy work week my favorite place to hangout is anywhere with my husband.  The famous smoked chicken and broccoli soup is wildly addictive and I never stray from the spaghetti with clams.” – Jamie

Fluxx - An upscale nightclub in San Diego’s Gaslamp District is the perfect venue for a girls night out for dancing, cocktails and stylish clubgoers. From LMFAO to world renowned DJs like Benny Benassi, it is a sightful scene to get a glimpse of celebrities.

“I love FLUXX’s constantly changing themes- they make for a fun new atmosphere every so often!” – Kendall

Sunday Funday

Searsucker in Downtown, San Diego

Searsucker - For downtown chic and “New American Classic cuisine,” Searsucker’s lazy-day playful Sunday brunch menu gives a spin on the breakfast basics.

“My top menu pick is the ”Bourbon Brown Butter Toast 10” with pumpkin, maple and whipped cream cheese.  It’s simply amazing.  And not only is Searsucker a cool spot for champagne brunch but they have a live DJ too!”– Lauren K.

Flavor Del Mar

Flavor Del Mar - With their plush white chairs, savory food and panoramic view of the Del Mar coastline, Flavor is the ideal spot for social soirees. Even better, they have happy hour all day on Sundays.

“The view is awesome – even better if you get there just before sunset.  The bar menu is delicious and I’m pretty sure I could live on their duck fat fries (insane) and Spicy Crispy Shrimp.” – Amy O.
